Scabies outbreak in Clinton Louisiana schools

It has been reported that 13 students have been identified with scabies at East Feliciana Parish public elementary and high school in Clinton La. forcing the school to close and rooms to be disinfected.

Scabies is a very old problem, however in recent years strains of scabies mites have appeared that are resistant to traditional man-made chemical treatments such as lindane, crotamiton, and benzyl benzoate, as well as emerging resistance to permethrin and oral ivermectin.

This has led to the development of natural scabies treatments including formulas containing tea tree oil (or melaleuca) and essential oil from the New Zealand Manuka plant.

A very effective natural scabies treatment is a formula containing both of these proven essential oils in oil, cream and soap products.
